MFI — Will registration (richer v4)
Springboard: ../public/52-will-registration.html. Richer: the conversion + legal endpoint — will-status lifecycle, secure storage, executor notifications, what-happens-next, trust promise. Two tabs: Registered (E&W, confirmed) and Not yet registered (Scotland RoS guidance). Sensitive tone throughout.

On file
Each person sees only what they need to. Your executors are told where the will is kept and how to find it — never the contents while you are alive.
🔒 Our promise. You will never be charged automatically. Registering and keeping your will costs nothing more — the £4.95 register fee was part of your one-off plan with MLP Law. We'll always ask before anything is paid for.

Not registered
The safest choice in Scotland: the Register of Deeds keeps the actual original will (not just a note that it exists). Once it's registered, the will can't be lost, damaged, or tampered with. Cost: £10 to register, plus a certified copy.
How it works — we'll guide each step
  1. 1Print and sign your will, if you haven't already.
  2. 2MFI prepares the covering letter for you, with your details filled in.
  3. 3Post the original will and letter to Registers of Scotland.
  4. 4They keep the original safe and send you a certified copy.
  5. 5Keep that certified copy — it counts the same as the original.

Not registered
The National Will Register works in Scotland too. It records that your will exists (but doesn't keep the original, unlike the Register of Deeds). For the strongest protection, you can use both.
🔒 Our promise. You will never be charged automatically. The £10 register fee is paid directly to Registers of Scotland, in your own time. We'll always show you the cost and ask first — nothing happens behind your back.
🔎
A note for executors: when the time comes, search both the National Will Register and the Register of Deeds. A newer will always replaces an older one. How to search for a will →
Not ready today? That's completely fine. Your will is uploaded and safe. We'll keep it here for whenever you want to come back.
